Obituary for Edward Joseph Rucinski

Edward Joseph Rucinski,
90, of Wales Township, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Blue Water Hospice Home, Marysville.
He was born in Detroit, October 28, 1928, the son of the late Joseph and Janina (Goszcynski) Rucinski.
His marriage to Helen Golec was October 11, 1952, in Hamtramck. Helen passed away in 2007.
Edward served our country with the United States Army from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post 525 in Smith Creek.
Edward was a parishioner of Holy Family Parish. He was a farmer in Wales Township since 1955 and worked as a lineman for International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 17 for forty years before his retirement in 1991. Edward enjoyed playing cards, polka dancing, casinos gambling and eating sweets.
Surviving are three daughters, Bernadine (Robert) Jock, Sandra (Donald) Fowler and Jane Rucinski, all of Wales Township, and two sons, Paul (Julie) Rucinski of Columbus and Stephen (Sherry) Rucinski of Wales Township; eleven grandchildren, Rachael (John) Sulkowski, Rebecca (Ed) Wessel, Matthew (Sam) Rucinski, Stephanie (Darren) Lawrence, Bobby (Tara) Jock, Stacie (Josh) Thomson, Jill Rucinski, Adam (Veronica) Jock, Brian Rucinski, Michelle (Ben) Swoish and Philip Jock; thirteen great-grandchildren, Jacob, Lilly, Emma, Brady, Sophia, Evelyn, Rhett, Nolan, Landon, Michael, Elsie, Lena and Henry; a sister Lillian Vroman of River Rouge; a sister-in-law, Florence Rucinski, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Ziggy, Hank and Rose, and Joe and Joan Rucinski.
The family honors the memory of Edward and invite you to visit and share memories Friday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Richmond, with rosary devotion services at 6:00 p.m. Rite of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Parish, Memphis, with 10:00 a.m. visiting. Fr. Joseph Mallia will officiate. Burial will be in St. Philip Neri Cemetery, Columbus Township.
Memorials are suggested to Community Enterprises of St. Clair, Special Olympics, or “Wishes of the Family”.
